A dreamy date, delicious dinner and decadent dessert. What more could a girl ask for? Well, now that we are home from vacation and back to reality, just this.
Our night out in DC was probably my favorite memory of the trip. We had an evening free of cell phones and all other distractions to just plain enjoy each other’s company!
The evening started with a walk around the city and then, as normal, a search for local cuisine within walking distance. We had already knocked Mediterranean, deep dish pizza and ramen off the list. Our search landed us a short jaunt away at Old Ebbitt Grill.
Even with no reservation and having to wait about 75 minutes for our table, the night was very enjoyable. This old Victorian bar was not short of character. The bar tenders were skilled, our waiter spoke truthfully about the menu and dessert was the icing on the cake.
The food was worth the wait and did not disappoint. I ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes while he enjoyed Lobster Shepherd’s Pie.
When thinking back over our trip, we tried a lot of great places in DC. The Ebbitt has made the cut of a “must do” on our next visit. To my dreamy date, “Thank you for a wonderful night out!”
